A student opens a session stuck, a little frustrated, and often on a phone. They need to feel encouraged, always know the next small step, and never feel talked down to.
That is a real design problem: a conversation, math that has to render, a sense of progress, and a tone that lands for an eleven year old and a college freshman alike.
What you would own
- Own the session screen, the learn home and the flow from stuck to understanding.
- Design for the phone first, because that is where homework happens.
- Keep the visual system calm: white space, one friendly teal, no decoration that does not carry meaning.
- Sit in on sessions with real students. The person who watches should be the person who designs.
What we are looking for
- Five or more years designing software people use to do something, not to browse.
- A portfolio with at least one conversational or content-heavy screen you are proud of.
- You build your own prototypes, in code or close to it.
- You have a view about typography and can defend it.
How hiring runs
A thirty minute call with a founder, then a paid work session on a real problem from our backlog, three to four hours, then conversations with two people you would work with. Four steps, usually inside two weeks, and we tell you where you stand at every one.
